San Diego portrait photography sessions
Our portraits can take a while to shoot. That’s why they cost more than headshots. Taking your time can make a big difference.
Here's how it works:
We start by learning about you before the shoot and then deciding on what other than you will be incorporated into the image. We then decide on if we will go on location, or use props and backgrounds. Usually, portraits are on location.
When we start on shoot day it begins with us talking to you and learning more about the image you want to put forth. This not only helps us craft the shot, but it also starts getting you more comfortable with the process. This all makes for much better portrait photography.
Then there’s a testing period. Lighting, composure and perhaps even wardrobe get tuned. During this process we show you the differences (we shoot into a computer that you can look at) so you understand what we are doing.
With all that done w then try different angles, head positions, expressions and so on. Again we show you the differences both so you can have input, and also to show you what these small changes in positioning are doing so you can understand why we are making you move in such small increments. This can go on for some time.
Lastly, you pick your picture off right on the spot. This can take some time as well as you comb through all the images but it's really quite simple. Our software has filters that help you make your selection and cuts.
