San Diego Photographer | What should I look for in a photographer
The same thing you should look for in a photographer anywhere. Do you like their work? Who are their clients? What do you learn about them with Google? Are they reliable?
Photographers are unlicensed. They may belong to associations but all you have to do is pay a small annual fee. There are far more bad photographers than good ones, that’s a symptom of the digital age.
Unless you are simply shopping price, if you want a top notch photographer here are some things we notice as common denominators:
- Almost always have a studio, even if shared.
- Never provide the entire work product, just the final images. In other words: no CD straight from the camera.
- License their images for specific use. It may be broad for personal use, but the images are controlled.
