Actor Headshot Retouching Examples
As an actor attending castings and auditions, your headshot is not supposed to be significantly retouched. Some may argue that it should not be retouched at all!
We disagree. Looking at someone when animated, compared to inanimate, such as in a photograph, is an unfair comparison. In a photograph, all facial imperfections are magnified. We believe that should be taken into consideration.
We use Layer Blending Technology Retouching (LBT) (a proprietary process developed for high end New York magazines) which is already harder to detect, in a new form. A light “dusting” is performed on your headshot to ensure you have your best face forward, and that casting agents focus on what counts. Your engagement.
Note how the retouching is indistinguishable on the images on this page. Only by seeing the before and after can you tell they have been retouched. You can also see the difference in techniques employed by age.
